Luthier Dan Neafsey at DGN Custom Guitars has begun producing models of his Paragon guitars with redwood tops. Not a material usually thought of as being suitable for guitars, the redwood is quilted and curly to the point of looking three-dimensional across the top of the instrument. It is a...lso surprising lightweight. In addition, the guitars are chambered for better tone and overall lighter weight.
Each guitar is handmade and features his unique curved neck/body joint,which allows easier access to the highest fret. Neafsey offers his guitars with a variety of options, including his own custom-wound pickups. The NGM has just commissioned a one-of-a-kind instrument from DGN for The GUITAR Tour.
